..the race..

the 1st question that creeps into ur head in this place is : Do I belong?
u r in the midst of brilliance.. everyone around is an achiever.. everyones come here after cracking agruably the toughest post grad exam in the world.. it doesnt help being mediocre here.. it doesnt help being a jack of all trades.. u have masters here in all trades ur a jack in... u ll find atleast a 100 profiles in the batch that r better than urs.. someones a JEE top 100, another has represented the his state at some national level event.. be it swimming, cricket, elocution, quizzes.. u name it..

then.. the grind starts.. its not abt how good u are.. its abt being better than the next person.. ur talkin statistics at totally new levels.. and an absolutely novel concept called finance..subjects that ur supposed to master in 2 months time..everyones got his or her own way of making sense of things.. so b careful.. whn u try to clarify doubts.. u mite end up even more confused!..

and..it doesnt help when u ve screwed up ur 1st 2 quizzes.. ur classmates r already 4-5 percent points ahead..n ur already playing "catching up" .. as it is very rare that most of them wud screw up! nothin is absoute.. the concept that if it is tough for u, it is tough for everyone doesnt apply.. while ur in a paper.. u feel.. this is like impossible.. n u go out only to realize the buzz is abt how simple it was! ppl r good at lateral thinking.. infact they r experts at it!

and finally.. everyones ready to put in efforts.. call it SuperEfforts!.. u slog the entire day.. and at 3 am, u feel that uve done a good job... only to realize that lights r on all around u n ppl r slogging their butts even harder!!

so it gives u confidence when u do ur 1st mid term paper well..(or atleast think uve done well..:).. ive got used to expecting something n getting something absolutely different..literally n otherwise..).. u get a feeling that ur one of them.. that ur thinking is not all that wrong.. that ur also there somewhere.. that u belong..
